What is Now What?

Now What is a website for young people dealing with cancer (young people who have cancer, have a sibling, parent or friend with cancer, or whose sibling, parent or friend has died from cancer).

It provides young people with information, support and connection. Information ranges from cancer types and treatment, to coping strategies for dealing with grief and loss.

It also has a community available for young people to discuss issues, and the site contains many stories, so young people can find others in the same situation and understand they are not alone.

Health professionals can also order resources to give young people in their care living with cancer.

Young people have been extensively involved in the development of this site, and it is proudly brought to young people by CanTeen – the Australian Organisation for Young People Living with Cancer.

How are Now What and CanTeen related?

Now What has been developed by CanTeen as a helpful resource and online support network for young people living with cancer.

How do I register to become a member of Now What?

Simply visit the sign up page.

How do I change my password, email address or profile information?

Once you have logged on to Now What, click on the ‘Profile’ tab at the top right corner of the homepage. From the Profile homepage you can change your password, email address and profile information by clicking on the tabs to the left hand side of the page.

How do I submit my story?

Simply fill out the required fields on the story submission page. You will need to create a log in before you can submit your story.

Please note that you will receive an agreement via email after submitting your story. If you are under 18 you will need the consent of a parent or guardian and will need them to sign this form and return it to us.

How long will it take before my story will be visible on Now What?

Once you have submitted your story we will contact you via email with a consent form agreement to be signed and returned to us.

If you are under the age of 18 we may decide not to upload your story until we have received your signed consent form, so the sooner you return your form to us, the sooner will can upload your story to Now What!

What if I want to submit a blog post?

All you need to do is send us an email with the blog you would like to submit for publication on the site and also an image to accompany it.

Send the entry to: nowwhat@canteen.org.au and someone from the Now What team will be in touch.

How do I take my story down?

If you would like to make any additions or changes to your story feel free to contact us at nowwhat@canteen.org.au.

If you feel that you no longer want your story visible on the Now What Website please contact us via the above email address.

How do I delete my Now What membership?

Send an email to nowwhat@canteen.org.au stating you want your profile deleted from the site. Include the email address your Now What account is linked to so we can delete your account.

Alternatively, fill out our contact us online form including the required details to notify the Now What team that you want your account deleted.

How can I unsubscribe from the mailing list?

Simply click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-newsletter or send an email to nowwhat@canteen.org.au stating that you want to be taken off the mailing list.
