We are SO excited to announce that today CanTeen has launched a new service for young people who have a parent with cancer or who have had a parent die from cancer.
This service is a pilot program (thanks to lots of money donated from the nib foundation) and will involve a counselling service in 3 locations - Newcastle, Brisbane and Melbourne - for young people aged 12-24 whose Mum or Dad has cancer or whose Mum or Dad has died from cancer.
You dont have to be a CanTeen Member to access this service - it is open to anyone.
Counsellors will be in place in the 3 locations from October.
The program also involves sending out the amazing Now What books
- Now What..? Dealing with your parents cancer
- Now What..? Living with the death of your parent or brother or sister
You can order these right here on Now What at www.nowwhat.org.au/resource-order
If you want to find out more about the program or if you want to be put on a list to be reminded in October about the counselling service (when it starts up) - you can email us at nowwhat@canteen.org.au
