I hate cancer

I hate cancer
In 2000 mum had Zack, my little brother and the doctors thought that she had an infection in her breast. It turned out to be cancer.

The meds that she was taking made her really sick because she was allergic to everything so she spend most of her time in hospital. She didn’t get to see Zack grow. I don’t remember much because I was only 4 years old.

"Dad got bowel cancer  in 2008."

I remember mum calling us into their room and said  that the doctors found cancer in dads bowel. I didn’t stop crying for what felt like forever. Dad had the operation, then chemo. They took a bit of his bowel out, then got the cancer out, then put a bit of bowel back in. He then had chemo each week on a Tuesday.

That made dad really sick so he had to go back into hospital. It was really hard for me at that time beause of mum and dads business. Mum had to work 24-7 and I had to make lunches for school, make dinner, look after Ashley and Zack and do all of my school work.

"Mum recently got breast cancer again in the same breast."

She is going good because the new meds aren’t making her sick like last time. She is having four big chemo treatments before the operation, then two big chemo treatments, then lots of little ones. She is about to have her third big chemo.

Dad is working all the time and I am looking after the other two. But family and friends are doing as much as they can to help.

I’m now in CanTeen which is the best thing ever. I love CanTeen!

I hate cancer, it sucks and makes me mad as hell.
