My cancer experience

My cancer experience
Hi, my name is Corinne and I am a survivor of pediatric neuroblastoma. A large tumor was discovered at the base of my spine when I was six months old and I soon became paralyzed from the waist down.

"I underwent numerous surgeries"

A bone marrow transplant and six rounds of chemotherapy.  As my hair was falling out, I was learning my first words.  When I was in isolation, I got my first teeth.  And, when I regained function of my legs, I learned how to crawl.

"Many of my life’s milestones have included or been influenced by my cancer experience."

I volunteered in the cancer wing at the local hospital in high school.  I watched members of my family be diagnosed with cancer and pass or survive.

I obtained a Masters in Acupuncture and treat many conditions including complications from cancer and its treatments.  And, I write about my personal experiences on my cancer survivor blog.

This year I will celebrate 26 years cancer free and continue to be shaped and motivated by my cancer experience.
